>How To Root Nook Color Running Android 3.0 Honeycomb

>

A few days ago, we wrote about how to install Android 3.0 Honeycomb on your Barnes & Noble Nook Color but many users weren’t exactly giving it a shot because it did not offer root access and there was no known way to root it back then. All that has changed, and now you can successfully root your Nook Color running Android 3.0 Honeycomb using the following procedure.
This guide is meant for you only if you have installed Android 3.0 Honeycomb on your Nook Color. If you are running any previous version of Android on it, please follow this guide for rooting it instead.
Disclaimer: Please follow this guide at your own risk. Tiptz will not be liable if your device gets damaged or bricked during the process.
Requirements:
Procedure:
  1. Extract the downloaded SU.zip and place the ‘su’ file at a convenient location. We will be using c:\ for the purpose i.e. the location the file on our computer is c:\su
  2. Launch a command prompt window and enter these commands:
    adb remount
    adb push c:\su /system/bin/
    adb shell
    ln -s /system/bin/su /system/xbin/su
    chmod 06755 /system/bin/su
    exit
  3. Install Titanium Backup from Android Market and launh it.
  4. Tap the ‘Problems’ button and tap ‘Yes, do it’ to install BusyBox, and you’re done.
There you go – you now have root access on your Honeycomb Nook Color and you can now enjoy installing and using thousands of market as well as non-market apps on it that require a rooted device. Credit for sharing this method with us goes to XDA-Developers forum member shhaggerty.
