>MacBook Pro 2011 with Intel Thunderbolt Hands-On [Video]

As we know MacBook Pro 2011 has been released by Apple. It comes with Intel Core i5, Core i7, Quad Core processors, Intel Sandy Bridge processors, AMD GPUs, Thunderbolt for faster file transfer at 10 gigabits per second, FaceTime HD for video calls in HD and more. Now we came to know that Nilay Patel of Engadget has had his hands on one of the 15 inch MacBook Pro 2011 with Intel Thunderbolt.

This 15 inch MacBook Pro includes 4GB of RAM, 2.2GHz quad-core Sandy Bridge Core i7, 750GB HD and discrete AMD Radeon HD 6750M graphics. The existing DisplayPort connection has been replaced by Thunderbolt with one of Intel’s new-fangled ones using which you can transfer data at 10 gigabits per second in both directions. Within one cable both video and data can co exist.

The tests reports that the speeds are impressive. It took only one second to duplicate a 5GB file on a RAID array at around 700mbps. Really it’s very fast. Unfortunately the hardware of Thunderbolt isn’t available readily. Well, We are hopping manufacturers of 3rd party accessory will come with their external hard disks soon.
