>

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and X8 are both able to pull of Google’s AndroidOS without much sweat. However, one tiny aspect of the OS remains omitted when you have Android ported to these phones; that is the Multitouch input. Now had the hardware not been capable of it, we would have call it quits, but it does! This guide is an attempt to allow you to enable the much missed Multitouch input capability on your X10, X10 Mini, X10 Mini Pro & the X8. Read on for instructions!
The mod will work best with the native apps such as the browser, Google Maps etc. Furthermore, you don’t even need to have a rooted device! So let’s get on with the mod.

  6. Once the phone is successfully connected, click on Flash and you will be prompted for a firmware selection.
  7. Select the Enable Dual Touch drivers and click OK.
  8. After the drivers are flashed, simply unplug your phone and restart it.
That’s it! Multitouch should be enabled on your phone now. You can test it out using the Touch Tester App on your phone. Please make sure to update to the latest firmware and apps on your phone for the best results. For updates and queries, visit the forum thread at XDA-Developers.
