Creating Custom iOS 4.3.1 Firmware


STEP 1. First you have to download and install Sn0wbreeze 2.5, then simply connect your iOS Device to the computer via USB. Then launch Sn0wbreeze, and click the next “blue” colored arrow.

STEP 2. Now you have to choose the firmware. Simply click on “Browse” then drag-and-drop your iOS firmware file.

STEP 3. The iOS device which is required to be jailbroken will be automatically detected by Sn0wbreeze. Simply click on blue arrow button to continue.

STEP 4. Simply select the “Expert Mode”, it will allow you to add multi-touch gestures on your iOS device.
STEP 5. Now you will see the following screen. If you have an iPhone 4 then uncheck “Activate the iPhone” option. Do not select it.

Install 06.15.00 iPad baseband (Only for iPhone 3GS)


(A) If you are using iPhone 3GS then select option ‘Unlocks’. Otherwise jump to Step 6. if you want to unlock your iPhone 3GS running on BB 05.14.02 or 05.15.04 then this step is mandatory. For this you have to update your baseband to 06.15.00 and then unlock it. The baseband of your iPhone 3GS will be updated to iPad’s baseband in the next step.

(B) Simply select “Install 06.15.00 iPad baseband” option, and click OK. Now click on Blue arrow button to continue. You should note that upgrading iPhone 3GS baseband to the 06.15.00 may cause you to lose your GPS.

STEP 6. Now select “Build IPSW” to start creating your custom firmware for iOS 4.3.1. iBSS, and ramdisk will be patched during this process. Now you have to wait for some time until the entire custom IPSW file creation process is completed. When the custom firmware has been created successfully, you will be able to see the “Done!” message.

STEP 7. Now you have to press ‘OK’ button to follow the onscreen instructions to put your device into restorable state.

STEP 8. Simply follow the on-screen instructions to enter into DFU mode using Sn0wbreeze.

  • Hold down both Home and Power buttons for ten seconds
  • Now release the Power button but keep holding the Home button for 10 more seconds
  • Now your iPhone should be in DFU mode

STEP 9. Now open iTunes, you will be able to see a warning message where there is informed that you have connected an iPhone in DFU mode, simply click OK.

STEP 10. Now simply hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and click on the Restore button in iTunes.

STEP 11. Now you have to select the pre-jailbroken custom IPSW and then click on Choose button. Now you have to wait for some time until iTunes installs the firmware 4.3.1 on your iOS Device.

That’s it. Your iOS Device will be restarted automatically after the installation is completed. Now you have successfully jailbroken your iOS Device on iOS 4.3.1.
