>Toyota Removes Ad Campaign for Jailbroken iPhones at the Request of Apple

Earler Toyota has released a custom theme through advertising firm Velti for jailbroken iPhones to promote their Scion brand car. Now Toyota has removed this theme at the request of Apple. After complaints by Apple, Velti has requested the hosts of the file and their own Cydia repository ModMyi to remove the theme from the jailbreak app store. Well, In the past, Apple has been openly opposed to the jailbreak community. Now this move of Apple comes as a surprise.

On the phone, he explained Apple had contacted Toyota and requested they remove the theme and stop the advertising campaign. They (Velti) in turn contacted me relaying the message. The reason Velti listed for the removal request of the theme emailed through our dev portal was “Toyota’s making us take it down…” Toyota had agreed to do so to “maintain their good relationship with Apple,” our Velti contact told me on the phone.

After installing this theme in iPhone it changes the wallpaper, application icons, the unlock screen and promotes Scion brand car of Toyota. According to a person associated with the advertising campaign, this theme has been available on Cydia since 10th Feb. But there is no information available about the number of peoples downloaded it.
